Thought of a detective game

When it comes to the most famous works of detective work, it must be the novel Canon of Sherlock Holmes, or maybe the manga Detective Conan. As one of the most popular genres, it has a wide range of audiences and fans covering novels, comics, anime, films and television productions.

There are also numerous detective games in video games, which are usually divided into two categories: puzzles solving and rooms escaping. In these games, the feeling of thinking carefully, searching for clues and pulling out the pieces to find the final answer brings a great sense of achievement and satisfaction to the player. Cube Escape series by Rusty Lake and Ace Attorney series are my favourites.

So why not combine puzzle-solving and rooms escaping into one? Then I got an idea.

In this detective game the player as a detective to interrogate suspects, search their rooms for clues and eventually find the culprit. Of course, the suspects will also hide or make up lies to try and exonerate themselves. And intricate hidden clues lead to different reasoning.

And the flow of the game runs like this:

-Step1: The player as the detective, led by an assistant to the crime scene. The NPC gives a brief description of the crime and basic information about the suspect.

-Step 2: One by one, the suspects tell the story of their movements during the time of the crime. Only the murderer can lie and make up facts that don't exist to confuse the public. But there is always a flaw in a lie, and the detective needs to think to identify it. Non-murderers do not lie, but will deliberately conceal things they do not want to reveal. You will need to find certain evidence to trigger the conversation.

-Step 3: The detective conducts a scene search. Look for suspicious points in different scenarios to obtain the necessary information and clues about the incident. (Some cases may add time limits or limits on the number of exhibits to make the level more difficult. Random mini-games may also pop up during the search for evidence to make the game more interesting.)

Step 4: The detective uses the evidence obtained to conduct a one-on-one interrogation of the suspect. Only when the correct exhibit is found will the suspect responsible. Different exhibits provide the player with different clues to solve the case.

-Step 5: The detective combines information and then gathers the suspects for a unified interrogation. The suspects are free to elaborate and it is difficult to distinguish between true and false information. There may be cases where the murderer is trying to smear others to divert attention, and where others may speculate about innocent people for personal reasons.

-Step 6: The detective makes the final choice.

-Step 7: The results are announced.
